In this Fort Myers fishing report it’s that time of year when the bait moves in-shore and every fish follows them in. There have been huge schools of BIG Jacks roaming the flats and pounding topwater baits. Until you’ve had the chance to catch a big Jack its hard to describe just how hard they fight in 1 1/2 feet of water. They will burn 100yds of line off the reel like a Bonefish and they never stop pulling! My client caught a nice Tarpon, a bunch of Ladyfish, and lost several big trout that came off due to that soft mouth. The next month the fly fishing will be awesome so get out there early in the AM and go get ’em. The 3 1/2″ Savage Gear hard mud minnow has been the best bait hands down. The profile matches the bait exactly.
Good Fishing and Tight Lines!
