Fort Myers Fishing Report – July 20th 2020

Fort Myers Night Fishing Is Fantastic

The Snook fishing at night on the Fort Myers area beaches is going full tilt. From twilight until about midnight the bite has been consistently good from Wiggins Pass to Big Carlos pass. Fish the trough on an incoming tide and hang on, the best lures have been top water and swim-baits. There is lots of small bait fish so keep that in mind and try to match the hatch.  Sometimes more is less and this is one of those reports. Get out to the beaches just about full on dark and start casting. The Snook have been in schools and you can hear them busting before you see the disturbance. Remember to use your trolling motor, never approach an area with your outboard running. You will blow out the fish long before you get near them, Night Time fish are spookier than during the day when outboard noise is a common occurrence.
